TANNING
Yes, all the pigments that i use are a medical grade and hypo allergenic, I follow strict hygiene standards and keep up to date with all government guidelines. All needles that I use are pre-sterilised and sealed and disposed of after each client. All my equipment is wrapped and covered, also thoroughly cleaned with antibacterial agents between EACH client. A free consultation is carried out before booking in for your treatment. Also a patch test will be carried out no less than 48 hours before your treatment to ensure there are no allergic reactions. The clinic at Lovellia Beauty is fully insured and licensed, it has been fully inspected by the local (Suffolk) county council environmental health department.
It is the implantation of colour pigments into the skin for aesthetic purposes to enhance, contour and out line facial features. It is also a valuable procedure for camouflaging scars, burns, skin pigmentation variances causing by vitiligo and correcting some facial irregularities ie: balance/symmetry.
It uses some similar equipment and qualities but is also very different. Permanent Makeup, also known as Micropigmentation, is used with colour pigments that are implanted ONLY into the very top layers of the skin (the basal layer). These pigments are specifically designed for permanent make up work only. The ideal outcome of the treatment is to be ‘semi permanent’, permanent Makeup should ideally fade over time and NEVER heal a blue/grey like a tattoo. When getting a tattoo, tattoo pigments are implanted much deeper into the skin, thus why they are ‘permanent’. Only specialists in micropigmentation can perform a procedure on the face. Permanent Makeup artists use instruments much more delicate in design to provide the most natural looking results, i.e. the size of the needles used in micro pigmentation are considerably smaller than of a tattoo treatment, also the pigment lines are completely different.

The end result of both techniques, if used in the correct way by your technician, are both the same. The main difference is that Permanent Makeup is performed with a machine and needles and Microblading is performed by hand with a blade. The pigments used to carry out both procedures are the same, it depends on the technician which they personally prefer.

Microblading CAN create more trauma on the skin than a machine, it can lead to scar tissue in the skin after a few treatments. Yes I favour the machine! Mainly because that’s what I chose to be trained in, it’s less trauma also I like how I can be more precise with my work and lots more different techniques and can be used on lots of more skin types.

Inevitably it’s about what technician you choose, what style you like, that you feel comfortable, confident and happy in your decision before committing.

Typically, clients may feel little to no discomfort during or after their permanent makeup treatment. Jodie uses all the latest up to date techniques and equipment, that ensure minimal discomfort. Clients can pre-numb 15 minutes before your appointment to help with any discomfort.

Please note, under new by-law regulations local anaesthetic cannot be applied to pre-numb the area. There are topical creams available such as LMX4/EMLA/AMETOP that you can purchase from Boots or a local pharmacy and apply 20 minutes before your appointment. You must ensure you have fully read the enclosed leaflet and patch tested the area around three days before your treatment. You are not obliged to do so and your therapist is NOT responsible for any possible side effects.

When the procedure is carried out correctly the colour will be visible in the skin for up to 5 years, after this time it should start to fade. There are no ‘guarantees’ that the pigment won’t be there indefinitely. This all depends on a clients lifestyle, skin type, technique used, chosen pigment colour and age. Our aim as a Permanent Makeup artist is to implant the pigment into the basal layers of your skin deep enough to last but not too deep that you end up with a permanent tattoo! When implanted too deep is when you see the blue/grey colour brows/eyeliner.

You should expect to come back for an annual colour boost appointment about 12-24 months after initial treatment.

For a your first treatment of Permanent Makeup allow 2.5 - 3 hours, any touch up or colour boost treatments please allow 1.5 - 2.5 hours.
You can expect an average PMU treatment to take around 30 minutes treatment time. For larger body tattoos upto Scm2 the treatment would take around 45 - 60 minutes.
Its very unlikely, the Li-Ft will be pushed from the body upwards, along with the pigment during the healing process. It is designed to attract the pigments and lift it from the skin via the epidermis. It is not designed to camoflague or replace pigment.
A thorough consultation should always take place prior to the treatmentThe procedure is very similar to the intial treatment and so the skin will react in a very similar way. Darker skin types are more at risk of scarring and it may not be recommended on these clients.
This will depend on if you are trying to lighten / fade an exisiting tattoo or completely remove, along with additional factors. Black carbon based pigments will lift the easiest, whilst titanium dioxide particles are much larger; they will require more sessions. You should expect anywhere from around 1-4 sessions.
Li-Ft is not colour selective unlike laser removal, and will remove all colours in the same way.
Any further treatments should be left for a minimum of 8 weeks to allow the skin to heal.
As soon as the crust comes away, it will take the unwanted pigment with it and results will be visible. This is usually around 10- 14 days. The skin will continue to heal overthe following months.
This may depend on the amount of laser sessions and condition ofthe skin, however you must still wait a minimum of 8 weeks following a laser treatment if you choose to go ahead. Laser can cause chemical changes in the pigments and dermal scarring which may effect the results from a Li-Ft removal and further tattooing procedures. Many Li-Ft procedures have been successful on areas where a laser removal has not.
No, a laser uses wavelengths of light which disperse the pigment particles, pushing them deeper into the skin therefore allowing them to enter the bodies natural removal via the lymphatic system. Li-Ft works in the complete opposite way by drawing the pigment particles upwards and exiting through the skin.
You should feel a similar sensation to that of your original PMU /Tattoo. You can apply a topical anaesthetic beforehand to make the procedure more comfortable.
Following your treatment the skin may look red and inflamed. Swelling can be common but should subside within a day or so. The area will then begin to scab. This lasts around 10 - 14 days on average. Once the scab comes away, the skin may look pink for a few weeks - months following.
Eyelash Extensions are individual strands of synthetic fibers made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. The single strands are fanned together for the desired effect with lash adhesive to each individual eyelash. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.
Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, Eyelash extensions will require to be infilled every 2 to 3 weeks. Depending on where you are in the natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes, you may/may not loose more lashes in-between your infill appointments.
At Lovellia Beauty we only use professional grade adhesive which never comes in contact with your skin. Synthetic eyelashes are placed about 1mm away from your skin. You will also need to complete a consultation form to go through your medical history, in case you have any contra-indications. A patch test will also be performed on every client 48 hours before their treatment.
Our eyelash extensions are designed to give your natural lashes an improved look of fullness so mascara is not needed. We recommend not putting mascara on your lash extensions as it could cause irritation and cause you to loose your beautiful new lash extensions.
We do ask you to minimize the chance of wetting the extensions for the first 48 hours of wear. After that 48-hour period, the adhesive used to apply your eyelash extensions is secure enough to allow you to get right back to your routine. However, it’s recommended to avoid using steam rooms, saunas or certain facials as it can begin to loosen the bond.
The application process for a set of lash extensions normally takes about 1.5-2-5 hours and between 1-2 hours for an infill.
Your lash technician will consult with you to understand what type of style you are interested in and what look will work best with your natural lashes. The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to very voluminous! Please take a look at our services menu for all the options.

An eyelash extension application is non-invasive but many pregnant women are still understandably concerned about the chemicals involved – most particularly about the type of adhesive used to attach the extension to the natural lash. Some lash artists out there may use glue that has formaldehyde in the ingredients. If so, you will notice a lot of fumes during your treatment. This calls for a quit as the ingredient formaldehyde, may tend to be harmful to the baby. No professional lash salon/clinic will buy any products that would be harmful to their clients.

At Lovellia Beauty, we keep Material Data Safety Sheets on every product we use behind the counter or some are downloadable on our website. If you’d like to take a look please just ask or download.

We have taken a lot of care to ensure that nothing is harmful to our clients. It’s something we take very seriously, we want everyone, clients and technicians as safe as we possibly can. Our glue is the best on the market and does not contain formaldehyde. Our Lovellia Lash team are highly skilled in lash application and are trained to ensure no glue ever touches the skin. We apply the extensions 1mm away from the lash line to ensure our client’s comfort. With this in mind the eyelash adhesive does not actually touch the skin during the procedure. Taking that all into account, at the Lovellia clinic we are happy to carry out a lash extension treatment while you are pregnant with the advice of your midwife/health worker/doctor. You must also undergo another patch test, even if you are a current client due to hormone shift and sensitivity.

Natural lashes should not be permed or manually curled at the time of appointment Go makeup (and mascara) free, head to your appointment with clean natural lashes. To save a little time with makeup removal and ensure your eyelash adhesive has a good bond. Make sure there’s no oily residue lingering from tanning oils, facials or skin products – so Fresh Faced is best for the best pre treatment advice for beautiful long lasting Lash Extensions.

Its recommended to take out your contacts, if you’re a contact lense wearer we recommend you take them out pre-clinic appointment. We also recommened to leave these out for a few hours post-treatment too, to avoid interfering with your eyes. You’ll have to keep your eyes closed throughout the process, so hunt out your glasses, because you’ll need to go lens-free ! (recommendation, at clients discretion).

We do offer a service to have the extensions removed involving a 15-45 minute appointment in which we apply a gel remover. The gel remover is applied on top of the extensions and allowed to sit for 10 minutes to break down the bonds. Once the adhesive is dissolved the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.
Henna Brows is an all natural form of eyebrow tinting that is used to stain the skin beneath the brow hairs. The purpose of this is to cast a shadow or create an illusion of depth and fullness in the area, visually filling in any sparseness. Henna is a natural dye made from the henna paint. Brow Henna penetrates the shaft of the hair follicle and tints the skin leaving luscious, long-lasting colour, similar to a permanent makeup effect but without unwanted reddish tones. Brow Henna is made up of natural ingredients that encourage the vitality of hair follicles while reinvigorating the eyebrow’s natural shape.
Henna is extremely variable, the skin stain can last from 7 to 14 days and can stain the hair for 4 to 6 weeks. The longevity of henna comes down to so many factors i.e. Skin type, after care, life style, diet etc which is why it is difficult to give an exact answer to this question as it is so extremely variable. The best way to find out is to give it a try and see if it works for you. Please keep in mind that the skin stain is a secondary effect of staining the hair which is why it doesn't last as long, 2 weeks maximum. To get the best results out of your henna it is important to grow back what hair is need to give you a great shape which allows the henna to stick to the hair and last longer.

At the Lovellia Beauty Clinic, we use BrowXenna

Brow Henna is the longest lasting brow tinting option on the market, and BrowXenna specifically has been recognized as the #1 global brand for Brow Henna. BrowXenna is the most extensive global Brow Henna brand with a 12-shade range, specially formulated mineral solution, and the lowest concentration of PPD available on the market. It is 100% Vegan-friendly, and NEVER tested on animals.

Once your Cosmetic Tattoo has completely healed you can have henna applied to your Eyebrows however due to now having pigment implanted in the skin it is possible you can have an allergic reaction, so make sure to have a patch test at least 48 hours prior to having henna.
We generally sculpt your brow line into your preferred shape, then select a suitable henna shade to use. Henna powder and demineralised water are mixed together to create a paste, which is then applied through the shape of your eyebrows and allowed to soak into the skin for 10-15 minutes. Less intensity is applied that the beginning of the brow, with more strength in the arch and tail for an ombré effect.
Henna is a safe and natural alternative to tints and dyes. It is vegan friendly and free from peroxide activators, making it a suitable option for anyone with sensitive skin. Most clients prefer the Henna brows to traditional tinting as the henna is a natural product and generally produces longer lasting results. It is a good stepping stone to more permanent eyebrow procedures. We have found its been beneficial to those wanting better definition to their eyebrows perhaps not quite ready to tackle cosmetic tattooing or microblading eyebrows. Henna tinting is more effective for staining the skin compared with other forms of eyebrow tinting.
It is recommended to have henna applied every 6-8 weeks, however it will depend on personal preference of each and every client to decide when is right for you.
HD Brows is a bespoke eyebrow treatment that is totally tailored to you – not a brow stencil in sight. It’s so much more than a standard eyebrow tint and wax; our expertly trained stylists combine the HD unique design formula with custom-blended colour, hair removal and make up application for brows that suit you. Your stylist will work with you to create your perfect look, whether your wish to tame bushy brows or regrow over plucked eyebrow.
HD Brows are different to many other eyebrow treatments as they don’t believe in a one-shape-fits-all ethos. Brows are as individual as fingerprints and so each step of the HD Brows treatment is completely bespoke from the personal consultation, shape design, tailoring and aftercare process. There’s also the option of an HD Brows Express treatment, if you’re short on time or just need a tidy up in between regular appointments.
The effects of the treatment usually last around 4-6 weeks, however this can vary depending on your hair growth. After your first few treatments your stylist will be able to recommend how often you should be having the treatment done.

The HD Brows treatment usually takes around 30-45 minutes, but we would suggest allowing an hour for the treatment.

The HD Brow Express treatment usually take 15-20 minutes, but we would suggest you allow 30 minutes for this treatment.

Prices range between £25-£35 and vary depending on the salon you visit and the skill level of your stylist. Here at Lovellia we charge £25 for a full HD Brow treatment and £15 for a HD Brow Express treatment.
Brow lamination works for most eyebrow shapes and styles, from full to sparse, so is ideal for anyone looking to improve the shape of their brows.
Not at all - there’s no eyebrow extensions or permanent make up involved in a brow lamination treatment. The treatment uses entirely your own brow hair. It’s the eyebrow repositioning and shape correction that gives a fuller appearance.
Brow lamination is safe if done by a Trained Professional. Your stylist will ask relevant questions and undertake the relevant patch test policy to ensure that the treatment and products are suitable for you. We do not recommend DIY brow lamination at home kits!

It’s really easy to care for your brows following a lamination treatment. For the first 24 hours, you should treat your brows with care, avoiding getting them wet, steam baths and saunas. After this time, you can treat them normal, simply brushing into place every morning with a spoolie.

At Lovellia, we highly recommend using the HD Tint Lock Serum in-between appointments. You can purchase in Clinic or on our online shop, or you can grab the offer of a ‘tint lock serum’ for £10 with your first Brow Sculpt appointment.

Just book the Brow Sculpt option with ‘Brow Serum’ in the booking menu.

Brow lamination is not the same as a lash lift or LVL, but uses the same principles. Firstly, the bonds in the eyebrow hairs are broken down so they can then be reset in your desired position.

Brow lamination is not permanent; results usually last up to 6 weeks.

Exclusive to Nouveau Lashes, our LVL lash lift is the revolutionary lash treatment that creates masses of length, volume and lift with your own natural lashes. No mascara. No extensions. No maintenance.

It’s a great alternative to lash extensions and the perfect way to enhance what you already have, whether your lashes are long, short, thick or stubborn. This treatment will create the look of longer, fuller lashes that make your eyes appear more open and youthful as well as saving time in your morning routine. So, if you’re looking for a long-lasting, low maintenance, natural looking eyelash enhancement then Nouveau Lashes LVL lash lift is for you.

To create the Length Volume Lift effect, our lash-health first products are applied step-by-step by a qualified lash artist. Following on from your patch test and consultation, the lash artist will apply the appropriate shape shield to your eyelid and your lashes will be pressed against this using a bonding gel.

Step 1: LIFT

With all the lashes neatly bonded, a lifting balm is then applied which allows the structure and shape of your lashes to change and be lifted at the root.

Step 2: VOLUMISE

Once this has been removed, a volumising fix is applied which seals your lashes into their new shape.

Step 3: BOOST

A lash tint is then applied which darkens the lashes and adds volume and length.

Step 4: MOISTURISE

Finally, a moisturising serum is applied to nourish the lashes and ease them off the shield, revealing beautifully healthy, lifted lashes.

LVL lash lift takes around 45 minutes, but we would recommend that you allow an hour for the treatment.
With immediate results that last up to 8 weeks, a lash lift is ideal for people with a low maintenance beauty regimen and busy lifestyle.
The cost of the long-lasting LVL treatment is, on average between £45-£60 per treatment. Here at Lovellia we charge £45 for an LVL Lash Treatment.
Our LVL lash lift products have been developed by us and are packed with vital ingredients like collagen and oats to enhance your lash health and strength, whilst minimising the risk of damage. Please ensure you go to a Nouveau trained lash technician, at Lovellia we are all trained to the highest standards. We also offer advice on how to care for your lashes keeping them in tip top condition in-between appointments.
Although an LVL treatment includes a lash tint which helps to create the appearance of longer and thicker lashes without the need for mascara, it’s still completely safe to wear should you wish to enhance the results further. However, we recommend following the aftercare advice, by waiting until 48 hours after your treatment.
For the first 48 hours after your treatment, avoid getting your eye area wet. This is because your eyelashes can take up to 48 hours to lock into place and if they get hot or wet, the lift will drop. After this time period, there are no restrictions with an LVL lash lift, so you can continue to shower, swim and use saunas without protecting your eye area.
Anyone from the age of 18 can have an LVL lash lift. This treatment is perfect for mature eyes as it can instantly open and refresh the eye area, so you appear bright eyed and ready to go.
LVL stands for length-volume-lift.
Most ordinary tanners work with the chemical DHA that has been found to dry the skin or cause it to become patchy. Skinny Tan products use a natural tanning agent derived from the seeds of the Brassica napus plant instead. The active ingredient works naturally with the amino acids in the skin to create the darkening reaction for a natural-looking tan.
Skinny Tan includes Guarana, a caffeine derivative that is an important ingredient in the most popular firming and cellulite creams. It is Guarana’s high caffeine content that can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Also, tanned cellulite always looks better than white cellulite; so, by tanning with Skinny Tan, you get the double benefit with one application. As we say at Skinny Tan: if you can’t tone it - tan it!
Absolutely yes! The smoothing, firming and disguising effect works best on people who have the white ‘cottage cheese’ effect, but will not cause any harm to people who are already smooth and cellulite-free. Essentially, Skinny Tan is the very best of self tanners due to the natural color, delicious smell, streak-free finish and the use of a gentle, natural tanning agent.
Results will vary from person to person and, like a real tan, depends much on how your skin naturally exfoliates. The typical time is 5-7 days and the time can be lengthened by using the Skinny Tan Pre-Tan Primer and the Skinny Tan After Glow Gloss.
Yes! Skinny Tan is a gentle formula, made with a natural tanning agent and naturally-derived skin smoothing that will give a gorgeous tan and natural improvement to your face as well as your body.
For the deepest, most natural, and longest-lasting tan, we advise you to leave your Skinny Tan on overnight. If you do have to shower while waiting for your full color to develop, please wait at least 5 hours before washing.
At Skinny Tan we have done a great deal of research on how to get a longer-lasting effect. Our formula was made to absorb extremely well, and to last longer. However, following a good skin care regimen before and after sunless tanning will help the tan last even longer. Our Pre-Tan Primer works to exfoliate old skin cells, so that only new skin cells are tanned. This will mean that the skin's natural exfoliation will take longer. Another helpful technique is to keep the skin hydrated with our 24-hour After Glow Finishing Gloss.
It is important to keep skin moisturized after sunless tanning as dry, flaky skin will slough off more quickly, and color will fade sooner. You want to slow down your skin’s natural exfoliation process. The After Glow Gloss will also highlight your tan, and you will see that glossy "airbrush effect" you see on models in photographs.
We recommend avoiding these situations for the first 48 hours following Skinny Tan application. Chlorinated pools & spas can increase the rate in which the skin exfoliates, causing the tan to wear and fade.

Skinny Tan is non-toxic, and has been manufactured from quality ingredients to the highest Australian standards, and is not known to have any detrimental effects on an expectant mother.

However, if women use any tanning sprays, or a spray-tanning booth, they may inhale some of the vapors. There is no evidence to know how breathing in ANY tanning spray will affect an unborn baby. To be on the safe side during pregnancy, Skinny Tan would suggest using cream-based tanning only AND to check with your physician before using any of our products.

Skinny Tan uses a naturally-sourced tanning agent from seeds and naturally derived firming ingredients, so it is less likely to cause a reaction. However, every sensitive skin condition is different, so it is best to patch test first on a small area before completing a full tanning application if you are concerned
Yes, we believe that beauty products should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements. Our products are also 100% vegan friendly.
