Yours Truly
The Lovellia Team xx
The end result of both techniques, if used in the correct way by your technician, are both the same. The main difference is that Permanent Makeup is performed with a machine and needles and Microblading is performed by hand with a blade. The pigments used to carry out both procedures are the same, it depends on the technician which they personally prefer.
Microblading CAN create more trauma on the skin than a machine, it can lead to scar tissue in the skin after a few treatments. Yes I favour the machine! Mainly because that’s what I chose to be trained in, it’s less trauma also I like how I can be more precise with my work and lots more different techniques and can be used on lots of more skin types.
Inevitably it’s about what technician you choose, what style you like, that you feel comfortable, confident and happy in your decision before committing.
Typically, clients may feel little to no discomfort during or after their permanent makeup treatment. Jodie uses all the latest up to date techniques and equipment, that ensure minimal discomfort. Clients can pre-numb 15 minutes before your appointment to help with any discomfort.
Please note, under new by-law regulations local anaesthetic cannot be applied to pre-numb the area. There are topical creams available such as LMX4/EMLA/AMETOP that you can purchase from Boots or a local pharmacy and apply 20 minutes before your appointment. You must ensure you have fully read the enclosed leaflet and patch tested the area around three days before your treatment. You are not obliged to do so and your therapist is NOT responsible for any possible side effects.
When the procedure is carried out correctly the colour will be visible in the skin for up to 5 years, after this time it should start to fade. There are no ‘guarantees’ that the pigment won’t be there indefinitely. This all depends on a clients lifestyle, skin type, technique used, chosen pigment colour and age. Our aim as a Permanent Makeup artist is to implant the pigment into the basal layers of your skin deep enough to last but not too deep that you end up with a permanent tattoo! When implanted too deep is when you see the blue/grey colour brows/eyeliner.
You should expect to come back for an annual colour boost appointment about 12-24 months after initial treatment.
An eyelash extension application is non-invasive but many pregnant women are still understandably concerned about the chemicals involved – most particularly about the type of adhesive used to attach the extension to the natural lash. Some lash artists out there may use glue that has formaldehyde in the ingredients. If so, you will notice a lot of fumes during your treatment. This calls for a quit as the ingredient formaldehyde, may tend to be harmful to the baby. No professional lash salon/clinic will buy any products that would be harmful to their clients.
At Lovellia Beauty, we keep Material Data Safety Sheets on every product we use behind the counter or some are downloadable on our website. If you’d like to take a look please just ask or download.
We have taken a lot of care to ensure that nothing is harmful to our clients. It’s something we take very seriously, we want everyone, clients and technicians as safe as we possibly can. Our glue is the best on the market and does not contain formaldehyde. Our Lovellia Lash team are highly skilled in lash application and are trained to ensure no glue ever touches the skin. We apply the extensions 1mm away from the lash line to ensure our client’s comfort. With this in mind the eyelash adhesive does not actually touch the skin during the procedure. Taking that all into account, at the Lovellia clinic we are happy to carry out a lash extension treatment while you are pregnant with the advice of your midwife/health worker/doctor. You must also undergo another patch test, even if you are a current client due to hormone shift and sensitivity.
Natural lashes should not be permed or manually curled at the time of appointment Go makeup (and mascara) free, head to your appointment with clean natural lashes. To save a little time with makeup removal and ensure your eyelash adhesive has a good bond. Make sure there’s no oily residue lingering from tanning oils, facials or skin products – so Fresh Faced is best for the best pre treatment advice for beautiful long lasting Lash Extensions.
Its recommended to take out your contacts, if you’re a contact lense wearer we recommend you take them out pre-clinic appointment. We also recommened to leave these out for a few hours post-treatment too, to avoid interfering with your eyes. You’ll have to keep your eyes closed throughout the process, so hunt out your glasses, because you’ll need to go lens-free ! (recommendation, at clients discretion).
At the Lovellia Beauty Clinic, we use BrowXenna
Brow Henna is the longest lasting brow tinting option on the market, and BrowXenna specifically has been recognized as the #1 global brand for Brow Henna. BrowXenna is the most extensive global Brow Henna brand with a 12-shade range, specially formulated mineral solution, and the lowest concentration of PPD available on the market. It is 100% Vegan-friendly, and NEVER tested on animals.
The HD Brows treatment usually takes around 30-45 minutes, but we would suggest allowing an hour for the treatment.
The HD Brow Express treatment usually take 15-20 minutes, but we would suggest you allow 30 minutes for this treatment.
It’s really easy to care for your brows following a lamination treatment. For the first 24 hours, you should treat your brows with care, avoiding getting them wet, steam baths and saunas. After this time, you can treat them normal, simply brushing into place every morning with a spoolie.
At Lovellia, we highly recommend using the HD Tint Lock Serum in-between appointments. You can purchase in Clinic or on our online shop, or you can grab the offer of a ‘tint lock serum’ for £10 with your first Brow Sculpt appointment.
Just book the Brow Sculpt option with ‘Brow Serum’ in the booking menu.
Brow lamination is not permanent; results usually last up to 6 weeks.

Exclusive to Nouveau Lashes, our LVL lash lift is the revolutionary lash treatment that creates masses of length, volume and lift with your own natural lashes. No mascara. No extensions. No maintenance.
It’s a great alternative to lash extensions and the perfect way to enhance what you already have, whether your lashes are long, short, thick or stubborn. This treatment will create the look of longer, fuller lashes that make your eyes appear more open and youthful as well as saving time in your morning routine. So, if you’re looking for a long-lasting, low maintenance, natural looking eyelash enhancement then Nouveau Lashes LVL lash lift is for you.
To create the Length Volume Lift effect, our lash-health first products are applied step-by-step by a qualified lash artist. Following on from your patch test and consultation, the lash artist will apply the appropriate shape shield to your eyelid and your lashes will be pressed against this using a bonding gel.
Step 1: LIFTWith all the lashes neatly bonded, a lifting balm is then applied which allows the structure and shape of your lashes to change and be lifted at the root.
Step 2: VOLUMISEOnce this has been removed, a volumising fix is applied which seals your lashes into their new shape.
Step 3: BOOSTA lash tint is then applied which darkens the lashes and adds volume and length.
Step 4: MOISTURISEFinally, a moisturising serum is applied to nourish the lashes and ease them off the shield, revealing beautifully healthy, lifted lashes.
